ANO, operated by ANO WW8 OÜ (“we”, “our”, “us”), is a privacy-first messaging and decentralized identity platform. ANO is designed so that no personal data is stored on centralized servers.
This Privacy Policy explains how the platform works, what data exists on-chain, and the rights available to users.
1. Data Architecture (Important)
ANO does not store personal data off-chain.
All identity and usage information is either:
- Stored on the blockchain, or
- Generated and stored locally on the user’s device
ANO does not operate centralized databases containing personal data.
2. On-Chain Identity Data
The following information may exist on-chain, controlled by the user:
- Wallet or smart account address
- Public encryption keys
- Nickname (username) chosen by the user
- Identity status and activity references
ANO does not collect or store:
- Private keys or recovery phrases
- Passwords
- Government-issued identification
- Emails, names, or physical addresses
3. Messaging & Usage Data
ANO does not store message content or usage history on centralized servers.
- Messages are encrypted and handled peer-to-peer
- Any metadata required for protocol operation exists on-chain only or temporarily in memory
- ANO does not retain logs, message content, or behavioral profiles
4. Payments
Payments made via credit card or bank transfer are handled entirely by third-party payment providers.
ANO:
- Does not store payment details
- Does not access credit card or banking information
- Does not custody user funds
Payment providers process payments under their own privacy and compliance obligations.
5. Non-Custodial Design
ANO is a non-custodial platform:
- Users retain full control over their wallets and funds
- ANO cannot access, move, or withdraw user assets
- Usage credits represent access to digital services and are not financial instruments
6. Identity Erasure & Retention
ANO does not retain personal data off-chain.
Users may:
- Erase or abandon their identity by interacting directly with the blockchain
- Disable discoverability and stop further identity usage
Blockchain data is immutable by design and cannot be deleted. When an identity is erased or abandoned, it becomes inactive and non-discoverable, but historical on-chain records remain.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access information related to your on-chain identity
- Object to certain processing activities
Because ANO does not store personal data off-chain, traditional data access or deletion requests may not apply.
